Cold Winter Bran Mash for Horses recipe

4 cups sweet feed
6 cups bran
1 cup molasses
Hot water

Mix sweet feed with the bran. Add hot water until it is the consistency of hamburger.
Add molasses. Let steep for 5 to 10 minutes and until cool enough to serve.

Thanksgiving Bran Mash

Hot Water
A dollop of molasses
A handful of brown sugar
2 carrots shredded
1 apple chopped
6 Cups of bran mash
Your horse’s grain ration
2 cups of apple juice

Mix all ingredients together in a large bucket.  Pour enough hot water on top to resemble soupy oatmeal. Allow the mixture to sit until the bran has absorbed the water and is cool enough to eat. Pour the apple juice on top and serve. Be sure to discard any leftovers.
